Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI)
Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) is a therapeutic method developed by Dr. Svetlana Masgutova that focuses on the role of reflexes in development and how they can be impacted by stress and trauma. Here's a breakdown of how MNRI can help.
How MNRI Supports Development
-
Reflex Integration: MNRI works by integrating or maturing primitive reflexes. These are reflexes present in infants that typically integrate as they grow. When these reflexes remain active, they can interfere with motor skills, coordination, learning, and emotional regulation.
-
Brain Development: By integrating reflexes, MNRI helps to optimize brain function and development. This can lead to improvements in areas like:
-
Motor skills: Fine and gross motor coordination, balance, and posture.
-
Cognitive skills: Attention, focus, memory, and problem-solving.
-
Emotional regulation: Managing emotions, reducing anxiety, and improving social interaction.
-
Sensory processing: Integrating sensory information and reducing sensitivities.
How MNRI Addresses Stress and Trauma
-
Nervous System Regulation: Stress and trauma can disrupt the nervous system, leading to hyperarousal, anxiety, and difficulty regulating emotions. MNRI helps to re-regulate the nervous system, promoting a sense of calm and safety.
-
Reflex Integration: Trauma can cause primitive reflexes to become reactivated, contributing to symptoms like hypervigilance, startle response, and emotional reactivity. MNRI helps to integrate these reflexes, reducing their impact on behavior and emotional well-being.
-
Resilience Building: By addressing the underlying neurological issues related to stress and trauma, MNRI helps to build resilience and improve the ability to cope with future stressors.
Who Can Benefit from MNRI
MNRI can be helpful for individuals of all ages who are experiencing...
-
Developmental delays: Children with motor, cognitive, or speech delays.
-
Learning difficulties: Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, or other learning challenges.
-
Sensory processing issues: Children with sensory sensitivities or difficulties integrating sensory information.
-
Trauma: Individuals who have experienced physical, emotional, or psychological trauma.
-
Stress and anxiety: Individuals with chronic stress, anxiety, or difficulty regulating emotions.

Do you accept insurance?
I am not currently able to accept insurance, but I am happy to prepare a "super bill" that you can submit for reimbursement if eligible under on the terms of your insurance policy.
What do I need?
Sessions work best on a computer or tablet with a high-speed wifi connection, webcam, and a quiet place where you can speak freely. I use HIPAA-compliant versions of Zoom or Google Meets for videoconferencing, and we'll discuss any additional tools we might use.
